Man, I feel old!

So my sister Tiffany graduated from South Grand Prairie High School yesterday, and I got to see a few old friends. But what's weird is that I felt so old being there. It was only a year ago that I graduated from high school, and yet it feels like ages ago. What's funny is that at the same time it seems as though a year went by so fast! Maybe that's what happens when your out having fun all of the time. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Some of you (Randy) are probably laughing as you read this! But I can't help feeling, well, old! Oh, sure, 19 years isn't a lot of time for a person, but then you look at cars that are about as old as me and they look ancient! Same with a lot of other things, like music that I grew up listening to. I hear a particular song and think, "Wow, that was way back in the 3rd grade!" My memory also seems to be lacking at times (after reading that, I want to laugh, myself!) My childhood memories seem so vague and distant, as if a 100 years have past! Well, hell! Same with my high school years, and those were not that long ago! Man, how time flies right out the window sometimes! It kinda makes me sad to think that the years will just keep flying by even faster, and before I know it, I'll be 30 years old! Like I said, some of you probably are laughing at this, but I can't help it. I just started reflecting on this the past few days, what with my sister graduating and stuff. My cousin will be graduating next year, and my youngest sister the following year. Then I'll really feel old. I can remember the days when we still played together when we were 9, 10, 11, and 12. Those were the days... I think I might be afraid of growing up. I don't want time to fly by like this. I want to have a long youthful life. I can't stand the thought of being in my mid-twenties in a few years. Then I'll be a 1/4 of a century old! How depressing is that? I don't want to say goodbye to my youth. I don't hate the idea necessarily of getting older in age, it's just that with age comes new responsibilities and expectations. I mean at 30, people expect you to be settled down, have a career, and if you're a girl, already have like 5 kids running around the house, and no longer be out partying till 3 or 4 in the morning. I'm not ready to face those days yet! I want to stay in college for a long time, in order to avoid having to do those things. Sure it's okay to grow up and have a family and what not, but I hate how society has these expectations of people at a certain age. I want to enjoy these next 6-10 years (however long it takes for me to grow up) without the pressures of society wanting me to settle down. So I hope and pray that these years do NOT fly by fast! I don't want to sound immature, by posting all of this, but I will be honest and say that I am not on the same level of thinking as some of my peers may be. I can't see how a lot of my friends are already ready to get married, most of them being freshman in college. Wouldn't you want to be able to enjoy life and the world before you settled down? I would, and I do. Okay, off of my "soap box" for now. Sorry I put you through this! I just had a lot of things on my mind lately, and I needed to get them off of my chest. I know I promised a more "exciting" post, last time, but oh well. I'll try not to do this again any time soon. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! A certain someone comes home from New Orleans, tomorrow! I can't wait, and I'm dying trying to come up with stuff to do to keep my mind off of it. Most of you should know who I'm talking about. Tomorrow better come by fast (that's ironic) cuz I'm missing someone too much! Anyways, have a great rest of the weekend!
