All I Needed to Know I Learned My Freshman Year of College

Well I made it through my first year of college! What a blast, and a great learning experience, too! The following lists are so true of college life, or at least that's what I got out of it! I'm so glad that I came to UTA, because I have met some of the most interesting people here, made soooo many great and wonderful friends, had soooo many dramatic moments, but I can laugh at them now, and most of all, I have grown a lot since I graduated high school. I am also proud to say that I have no regrets, and that I wouldn't go back to change anything! I can't wait for the Fall semester! I want to say thanks to all of the great and wonderful people in my life: My EX.C.E.L. peeps, megan, Kelly, Jen, Marykate, Jerad, John, Patrick, David, Crissy, Andrea, Megan M., Georgie, and Chris Fox; My ATO boys, especially Chris (Murr), Rex, Justin, Mikey, Chris Capik, Chralex, Zach, and Hannibal (I could list all of your names, but it would take too long); and my other friends, Alexis, Robin, Jess, Misty, Shauna, Erin, Aaron, and so many others! Read the following, and most of these I;m sure that we all can relate to !

Top Ten Reasons that College is like Preschool:
10. You cry for your mother.
9. You cross the street without looking for cars.
8. Snack time is a necessity.
7. You bundle up for the outdoors without caring what you look like because everyone else looks as stupid as you do.
6. You stay at home and play games with your friends.
5. You wear your backpack on both shoulders.
4. You never eat what you are suppose to eat.
3. Playing in the rain is a legitimate activity.
2. You take naps.
1. You can't remember all your classmates' names.

 > > >YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN IN COLLEGE TOO LONG WHEN...
*Two miles is not too far to walk for a party
*You wear dirty socks three times in a row and think nothing of it
*You'd rather clean than study (isn't that weird??)
*"Dang, how did it get so late!" comes out of your mouth at least once a night
*Half the time you don't wake up in your own bed and it seems normal
*Minesweeper is more than a game it's a way of life
*You schedule your classes around sleep habits and soap
*You know the pizza boy by name
*You go to sleep when it's light and get up when it's dark
*You live for getting mail, even junk mail
*Looking out the window is a form of entertainment
*Prank phone calls become funny again
*You start thinking and sounding like your roommate (or those you seem to spend all of your time with)
*Blacklights and highlighters are the coolest things on earth
*Rearranging your room is your favorite pastime
*Wal-mart is the coolest store
*The weekend lasts from Thursday to Sunday

 > >BEFORE I came to college I wish I had known...
*That it didn't matter how late I scheduled my first class,I'd sleep through it.
*That I could change so much and barely realize it.
*That you can love a lot of people in a lot of different ways.
*That if you wear polyester everyone will ask why you are so dressed up.
*That every clock on campus shows a different time.
*That if you were smart in high school, so what?
*That I would go to a party the night before a final.
*That you can know everything and fail a test.
*That you can know nothing and ace a test.
*That Home is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
*That most of my education would be obtained outside of class.
*That friendship is more than rooming together.
*That I would be one of those people that my parents warned me about.
*That Sunday is a figment of the world's imagination.
*That Psychology is really Biology, that biology is really Chemistry, that Chemistry is really Physics and that Physics is really Math.
*That my parents would become so much smarter in the last few years.
*That it's possible to be alone even when you are surrounded by friends.
*That friends are what makes this place worthwhile!
*Don't be dismayed at good-byes, A farewell is necessary before we can meet again, and meeting again, after moments or a lifetime,is certain for those who are friends.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun summer! Good luck to those who are taking maymester or summer clasees! Looking forward to seeing most of my peeps throughout the break!
